Travel to Dangerous Locations

This page links to Web sites where you can find the most recent information on travel to dangerous locations. You may also download the official KU waiver form (necessary for KU faculty and staff who are travelling to locations which have been placed on the US State Department travel advisory list).

Travel Warning Policies

The University of Kansas does not support travel to any country on a State Department warning list. The thirty countries currently on the list can be accessed at http://travel.state.gov/travel/warnings.html. This list is updated regularly.

What this policy means is that:

• Students and faculty are not to use University, grant, or Kansas University Endowment Association funds for travel to an area with a warning. This means scholarships, fellowships, or other awards for international study or research cannot be made for work in affected countries.
