The Multicultural Math and Science Scholars Program (MMSSP) is for undergraduate students at KU who are seeking a degree in science or math. Students with majors in biology, chemistry, geology, geography, human biology, mathematics, physics and environmental studies are eligible to apply.

Students in MMSSP come from various racial and ethnic backgrounds and include individuals from groups that are currently underrepresented in science and math.  First generation college student and students who are eligible for full Pell grants are also eligible for the program.  Members of MMSSP:

• are serious, motivated students who are well prepared for math and science degrees
• seek excellence in their academic work
• are open to working with other students to enhance their education
• seek cultural and educational experiences that broadens their appreciation and understanding of the arts, humanities, and sciences
