Application Procedures for SUMMER 2007
Three-week Term June 5-22
Mini Term June 25-26

For full details, read thoroughly the information found on the MEMT Degrees and Programs web page.
You have two options by which you may apply for the Summer 2007:
OPTION ONE. Begin study as a non-degree seeking graduate student. Later, after the regular graduate school application is completed with all
accompanying materials, hours earned in non-degree status may be applied toward the degree. You may have the non-degree seeking student status
for one summer only if you wish to pursue the degree.
Advantage: Less fuss for this particular summer session.
Disadvantage: Paying two application fees.
The final deadline for having all materials arrive for non-degree seeking graduate status is May 4. Processing an application successfully
after that date is not high and should it occur will most likely result in enrollment late fees.
For non-degree seeking graduate study application:
1. Have a bachelor's degree and an undergraduate and graduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale.
2. Complete and submit the online application form with application fee.
N.B. Check the Non-Degree "A" box. Non-degree C or Z will not enable you to apply courses
toward a degree.
3. Have one official transcript from each institution previously attended sent to:
University of Kansas
Graduate Application Processing Center
Strong Hall
1450 Jayhawk Blvd, Room 313
Lawrence, KS 66045-7535
Office Staffing, Attn: MEMT
OPTION TWO. Begin study as a fully admitted graduate degree-seeking student.
Advantage: You are all set.
Disadvantage: You will need to act quickly for this summer.
The deadline for all application materials being on hand in the MEMT Office is May 4.
For regular graduate degree-seeking status:
1. Have an appropriate bachelor's degree and an undergraduate and graduate grade point average of
3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale.
2. Register and take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE): the three Basic Aptitude subtests (Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing). Have test
scores sent to yourself and directly to KU (institution code 6871), department code (2404). Check out the GRE test information at http://www.ets.org/. Once
registered the computer based tests can be taken through KU Testing Services Monday - Saturday at 8:00 AM and again at 12:30 PM.
Results of the CBT is usually received 2-3 weeks after the test date.
3. Complete and submit the online application form with application fee.
