This research retreat was held June 20 - 22, 2007 at The Barn, Valley Falls, Kansas. Our keynote speaker was Dr. James F. Battey, Jr., Director of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communicative Disorders (NIDCD). Regional research administrators and research faculty participated in formal presentations, moderated discussions, and then conference participants continued related discussions over meals and in the relaxed atmosphere.
