Assisting medicaid beneficiaries in accessing assistive technology

Description

Kansans with medical cards are eligible to receive assistive technology services from their regional Assistive Technology (AT) Access Sites. All beneficiaries with current medical cards are eligible who have demonstrated a need for AT to promote optimal independent functioning for the individual consumer. The goals of this project are to promote maximum independence and to maintain accountability and continuity of services to consumers who need assistive devices and services.

The AT Access Sites provide assistive technology services related to: 
1) Assessment/Goal Setting/Reassessment
2) Training
3) Coordination of services related to use of or reimbursement for assistive technology
4) Documentation of assessment, reassessment, and training
5) Advocacy regarding acquisition of technology necessary for return to work and to live independently
