Biophysical study of antipsychotics' behavioral effects
This is a current/completed project.
Description
Investigators in this project are analyzing clozapine and other antipsychotic drugs (APDs) and their ability to modulate repetitive movements, known as focused stereotypies (FS), which are apparent in psychosis. The project also is studying the effects of amphetamine and antipsychotic drugs on specific kinds of behaviors (for example, drug-elicited versus learned). Ultimately, the research hopes to lead to improved antipsychotic drugs.
