Undergraduate Programs and Degrees

Theatre and Film Majors

Please click here for our introductory letter to prospective undergraduate students.

Theatre and film majors can earn a Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) in one of three areas of study: Theatre, film studies, or theatre and film studies.

Those pursuing the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) can concentrate in either theatre or film studies.

The B.A. and the B.G.S. both require a generous sampling of courses in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, but students earning a B.A.also will take courses in a foreign language and a laboratory science.

Students earning a B.G.S. will take more theatre and film courses for a more intense specialization in the area of study.
