Research Statement:
Over time, my various research projects have addressed one primary question:
what is the existential meaning attributed to political power? From early in
my undergraduate studies, I have concluded that how we interpret the presence
and use of political power is a vital part of our existence as human beings.
It gives meaning and order to our political lives, and the search for such meaning
and order at not only the individual, but also the communal level, is a constant
in human affairs. The principal objective of my research has been to clarify
the substance of such interpretations, the forms they take, and to understand
their effect, if any, on our political activities.
