Research Statement
My broad intellectual interest lies in theories which outline the conditions under which minorities and women successfully compete for electoral office and how they shape or influence the current electoral environment. I am particularly interested in the effects of the intersectionality of race/ethnicity and gender. Complementing these interests is my goal to incorporate the diverse viewpoints and life experiences of both minorities and women into mainstream American politics research.
