Skip redundant pieces
At the current time, these are the email lists.

1. pols-announce.

Anybody can join this list, but only the Chairperson and a few administrative folks can post. This is not a debate list, it is intended solely for announcements. It has a searchable archive, but there is a glitch in the search engine at the moment and its not working correctly.

If anyone wants to receive messages from pols-announce, they should sign themselves up. They can send mail to

listproc@ku.edu and inside put the message:

subscribe pols-announce Your_Name_Here

Your_Name_Here is your name, like "Melvin Jones" or "ee cummings", not an email address. The software the KU system uses will assume that the email account currently being used is the one that will be signed up. So send this message from the account where you want pols-announce messages to go. Please do not sign up from your uncle's AOL account or such, because your uncle will get lots of mail he does not want!

Someday you may decide you want out of pols-announce. Here's how to do it. Send an email to:

listproc@ku.edu And in the message you write:

unsub pols-announce

2 polsgrad-announce

with the message:

subscribe polsgrad-announce your-name-here(not email address!)

This list has a Web page with a searchable archive that does work: http://raven.cc.ku.edu/~kups/maillist/polsgrad

When you want to post to that list, address your email to polsgrad-announce@ku.edu. The message will be accepted as long as your email program's "reply-to" address matches the email address under which you are registered.

To remove yourself from this list, email

listproc@ku.edu and in the message write "unsub polsgrad-announce".
