Nicole, an Ethan Allen Scholar and Class President, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rockhurst University with degrees in English and Non-Profit Leadership Studies. Nicole, originally from Omaha , NE , interned for several non-profit organizations including the Camp Fire USA National Office and the YMCA. She was very involved at Rockhurst, serving as a New Student Orientation Coordinator; a Student Ambassador; and Vice President for Alpha Phi Omega, a national service organization. At Rockhurst, Nicole was exposed to the Kansas City community and realized her interest in metropolitan development. She is currently a member of the Rockhurst University Board of Trustees.

Following graduation, Nicole gained two years of administrative experience as the coordinator for graduate student recruitment at the KU School of Engineering. This experience exposed Nicole to higher education administration and allowed her to learn about the engineering and technical challenges that face our communities. Nicole hopes to incorporate her experiences in the non-profit sector and higher education into her career in local government management.

Nicole is currently interning in the City Administrator's Office in Basehor , KS . Working for a rapidly growing community has given her experience in many departments. Her projects include a wastewater treatment facility upgrade project management, street improvement projects, and working on a budget summary for the public. Nicole is interested in an internship in a diverse, growing metropolitan community that would provide opportunities for mentorship. Her interests are in non-profit contracts, neighborhood revitalization, and citizen engagement.
