Nick graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Public Administration and Literature, Language Arts and Writing. As an undergraduate research assistant for the Department of Public Administration, Nick presented his findings on normative commitment and employee job satisfaction at the 2006 Undergraduate Research Symposium, and to city managers and human resource officers. Nick was the first recipient of the Research Experience Program certification from the Political Science Department at the University of Kansas.
Nick’s strong work ethic allowed him to maintain full-time employment during his undergraduate career. He has extensive experience in commercial development, industrial and residential real estate sales and market research, event management and retail marketing. Through his experiences, he has come to recognize the unique value sets and ideals that are crucial in understanding the priorities of a community.
As an undergraduate, Nick was a KU Student Ambassador, a member of the KU Pre-Law advisory, and served as the president of the Edwards Campus Student Advisory. He also served as a Student Director with the Pathways Partnership program, sponsored through the KU Edwards Campus, Kansas City Kansas Community College and USD 500.
Originally from Fairway, Kansas, Nick is presently employed as the Assistant to the City Administrator City of Mission Hills, Kansas. His experience at Mission Hills has given him a unique insight into governing in a contract city. Nick was the 2008 recipient of the Special Contributions to the Greater Kansas City Chapter of APSA award.
