Charlie Bryan


Charlie, a Thomas and Barbara Page Scholar, graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning with a concentration in Public Management and a minor in African American Studies. While an undergraduate, Charlie served as Student Body Vice President, an outdoor adventure trip leader, a peer health educator, and a tutor and mentor for urban elementary school children.

Charlie volunteered as a member of the board of directors for the Richmond Jaycees, coached for a high school debate program, and participated in community forums sponsored by the Richmond Institute for the Healing of Racism.

Charlie completed a 3-year enlistment in the United States Army and was the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his basic medical laboratory specialist class. After his enlistment, Charlie worked full-time as a hospital laboratorian, spending the last 3 years as a supervisor.

Charlie is currently an emergency services intern for Mid-America Regional Council working in the Office of Emergency Management in the City of Olathe, Kansas.
