Randy received his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and his MPA degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Randy has public sector work experience in two different capacities. First, he served as a high school teacher in an urban district in Houston, Texas. Second, as a requirement for obtaining his MPA, Randy served as an administrative intern for a municipal public works department in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Randy’s academic interests include organizations and organization theory and public service professionalism, particularly as it pertains to municipal government. At KU Randy has taught undergraduate courses in introduction to public administration.
