Intern Option
The MPA program offers seven endowed scholarships:
  • The Mary Morrill Litchfield Scholarship
  • The Thomas and Barbara Kester Page Scholarship
  • The Ethan Allen Scholarship
  • The Buford Watson Scholarship
  • The Richard Chesney Scholarship
  • The Harry Nalbandian Public Service Scholarship
  • The Clara Schneider Perkins Scholarship

The program has also provided part-time paid internships in local government for internship-option students who want practical experience while attending school. The unique full-time second-year internships available nationwide also help make full-time graduate education in public administration financially feasible at KU where tuition rates are very competitive if not lower than peer institutions.

In addition, the MPA program offers financial aid to minorities, women, and the economically disadvantaged through grants funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Information on financial aid for minorities and women can be obtained from the administrative director, Ray Hummert.

Career Option

The mpa program offers limited financial aid to career option students at the Edwards Campus and the Public Management Center through donations of alumni. For information on these scholarship contact Ray Hummert.
