Frederickson Receives Award

H. George Frederickson, the Edwin O. Stene Distinguished Professor of Public Administration at the University of Kansas, has received the Lifetime Contributions to Social Equity Award for 2007. The Award is given by the Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs of Virginia Commonwealth University. Presentation of the Award took place at the Sixth Annual Leadership Symposium of the Standing Panel on Social Equity of the congressionally chartered National Academy of Public Administration held in Richmond, in cooperation with Virginia Commonwealth University. In the Award citation, it points out that in 1972 Professor Frederickson published the original paper upon which much of the contemporary social equity perspective in public administration rests. Over the past 35 years he has been the leading voice in the service of fairness and justice in the operations of government.
