Prior to being appointed chair of the Department, she was Vice Provost for Information Services and Chief Information Officer for the University. Marilu reported to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and served as chief officer for libraries and information technology services. Her responsibilities included: academic computing, administrative computing, networking, telecommunications, printing services and the KU Libraries. Marilu is thrilled to be following John and is absorbing and learning as much as she can from him. She has already ready registered for ICMA and looks forward to meeting all the KUCIMATs in Pittsburgh.

John Nalbandian said she will be a great chair and will look at the department strategically. She has the skills and talents to lead the Department in reaching its goals such as establishing the Tsinghua University (China) MPA program.
