KUCIMAT Summer 2006 Newsletter - Class President's Message

Kathy Woerner, Class of 2007
For the members of the Class of 2007, our days as full-time students are over. I am just beginning to realize that my beat-up backpack will no longer be my most used accessory and I won’t need to worry about getting to the library before it closes to check out a book for a research paper.
My classmates and I had a busy last few weeks in Lawrence! It seemed to be an endless frenzy of writing term papers, preparing for exams and saying good-bye to one another. As all of my classmates and I are scattered throughout the country in our full-time internships and jobs, it’s hard to believe that there is a new group of KUCIMATs at Blake Hall.
The Class of 2007 is continually keeping in touch via e-mails and phone calls, and everyone appears to be enjoying their internships. We are all busy with various projects that are exposing us to important aspects of local government and teaching invaluable lessons. Several members of the class are working in-depth with their city’s budget, and others are helping with economic development issues. And a few of us have already referred to our textbooks and old class notes for guidance!
Best of luck to the Class of 2008 as you begin your exciting year in Lawrence. And we look forward to meeting you, and seeing the rest of the KUCIMAT family, in San Antonio this September!
