The agenda has been crafted to provide opportunities to enhance participants’ leadership capacities while also providing a day of encouragement and renewal. Your leadership is critical. And so is your spirit. Regardless of the professional stage of your life, please join us on June 28. Be inspired.
OverviewWhether we love it or hate it, change is the reality of our working and personal lives. An aging population and increasing diversity are affecting communities and workplaces in all corners of the United States. The recent “Great Recession” and the ongoing European financial crisis suggest that our financial world has been reset with a slower cycle of recovery. Together with rising energy costs and increasingly rigid political ideologies, these changes impact our ability to sustain many of the very things that helped give the U.S. its competitive edge in the past century. The seriousness of these issues heightens the significance of our response as community leaders and leaders in public organizations. Fortunately, many localities and agencies have met these challenges with a spirit of innovation and a renewed commitment to public service as they forge a way forward. But for many public servants this has taken a personal toll. Committed to meeting the needs we see, public administrators struggle to do ever more with shrinking resources. Of necessity, our strategies and action must evolve as we go forward. To support women leaders whose work is vital to our communities, this year’s Inspiring Women in Public Administration Conference has been designed to help you address the issues shaping our local communities. We look forward to seeing you there! 2012 Conference Committee Keynote Speakers FRAMEWORK & CONFERENCE TOPICS MORNING SESSIONS: Focus on outlining and understanding the developing trends (changing demographics, financial recovery and forecast, unemployment, jobs, changing workforce, rise in incivility/partisan politics, funding education, etc) and the impact to local communities.
