Meet the February employees of the month

Kathleen Sadler
February Unclassified Staff employee of the month
Started at KU: 1999
Current title: Program assistant in the Division of Biological Sciences
What that means: Sadler is responsible for managing the greenhouse complex at Haworth Hall and a greenhouse on west campus. She cares for the vast number and variety of plants that are used in diverse research, educational and outreach applications, as well as maintaining the credentials necessary for pesticide use and supervising employees.
Notable: Last year, Sadler provided space for students to start plants for the new vegetable garden at KU’S Native Medicinal Plant Research Garden. She was also instrumental in the successful creation of the wall of ferns inside the new Center for Design Research on west campus.

Mark Anthony Stumbaugh
February Support Staff Employee of the Month
Started at KU: 1998
Current title: Facilities Operations specialist
What that means: Stumbaugh contributes his painting skills to the vital maintenance of valuable KU facilities across campus.
Notable: Stumbaugh is commended for his eight-month project painting all the Animal Care Unit animal facilities in Malott, Haworth and Higuchi halls and the Life Sciences Research Laboratories. He worked tirelessly on this very large job and repainted all of the animal rooms, hallways, procedure and storage rooms of the four buildings.
