KU Libraries launches online Naismith exhibit
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Libraries exhibition “James Naismith’s Life and Legacy: Celebrating 150 Years,” celebrating the 150th birthday of basketball’s inventor, James Naismith, can now be seen in a new virtual exhibition format. This collection of historic materials includes photographs, a scrapbook, university records and pamphlets from McGill University, Springfield College and the University of Kansas Archives and features a timeline of Naismith’s life.
KU Libraries created the online Naismith exhibit using Omeka, a standards-based open source web-publishing platform for the display of library, museum, archives, and scholarly collections and exhibitions. Look for more online exhibitions representing the broad range of unique KU Libraries collections in the future.
