Civil engineering professor honored
Adolfo B. Matamoros, an associate professor of civil engineering at the University of Kansas, has been elected a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute. He is recognized for making outstanding contributions to the production or use of concrete materials, products and structures in the areas of education, research, development, design, construction or management. In addition, ACI Fellows have made significant contributions to ACI through committees and/or local chapters.
Matamoros will be honored at an awards program March 18, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
He joined the University of Kansas faculty in 1999. He obtained his license of civil engineering at the University of Costa Rica in 1989, and his master's in civil engineering in 1994 and doctorate in 1999 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
