Functions as a liaison between the BFSC and KU Black Alumni. Provides a link to KU for the development of programs, events and scholarships to enhance educational and professional opportunities for African-Americans at KU.
These three committees provide a forum for the discussion of the unique needs of each group. BFSC members are encouraged to voice their concerns to the appropriate committee chairperson about issues regarding the quality of life at KU.
Recruits new members and nominates a slate of officers for annual elections.
Promotes and organizes social events for the membership, including a Welcome Reception, holiday parties, receptions for prospective faculty & staff members or visiting artists/speakers, and the annual BFSC Student Awards Banquet.
Functions as the selection committee for all annual awards for students, faculty, and staff.
