Eligibility Requirements for BFSC Achievement Awards
The awards are open to Black/African/African American undergraduate (sophomores, juniors, seniors only), graduate and professional students at the University of Kansas.
The student must be enrolled at KU full time (12 hours for undergraduates/6 hours for graduate and professional students) for both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year during which the recipient is selected.
The student must have a minimum current overall GPA of 3.00 for undergraduates, 3.50 for graduate and professional students, and 2.50 for law students on a 4.00 scale.
The student must show evidence of leadership potential and interest and involvement in the Black community.
The completed application and supporting materials must be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 1st of the year of the award. If the 1st falls on a weekend, it will be due on the next business day.
