JUSTIN (trombone)and
BEE (horn)
TOWNSEND LOVE are the proud parents of Sydney Lorraine Love, born September 8, 2009. She weighed 3 lb, 9 oz and was 16 inches long. Justin is band director at Shawnee Mission North High School. Sydney has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, and is in Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
PATRICK HUNNINGHAKE (trumpet) recently won first prize in the solo trumpet competition at the 2009 Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championships. KU's School of Music Interim Dean says, It is a wonderful honor and we are so proud that you are a senior student in trumpet at the KU School of Music. We are very well aware that your first prize award is highly prestigious and that former winners include Chris Martin, the Principal Trumpet in the Chicago Symphony. We are excited about your talent, skills, and abilities and we very much look forward to your continued development as a remarkable musician from KU! Patrick is a trumpet student of Prof. Steve Leisring.
JEFF BERUAN (trombone) has been living in Portland, OR for the past 3 years and has been singing professionally since he left KU. His primary focus is opera.

TOWNSEND (flute) and husband are the proud parents of Isabel Anna Townsend, born on August 11th. Isabel weighed 7 pounds, 3 oz., and has a big sister, Katarina.
LAURANN (Fulks)
TAYLOR (trumpet) writes that their son, Ukiah, is touring the Northwest part of the country with his band, We Won The Science Fair. Laurann says,

CINDY (Dary)
RUGOLO stopped by the KU Band office recently, and we had a great time talking about the good ole days, and about some of the good ole people? The live in Annapolis, MD. John is working for Dell computers, and Cindy is the piccolo player in the US Marine Band.
EMMA WILLIS (horn) has accepted a position teaching elementary general music (1-5), middle school and high school band in Morrison, Oklahoma. Morrison is a small (very similar to Oskaloosa!) town 20 minutes North of Stillwater.
FRANK PEREZ (DMA in conducting in progress) has been name Director of Bands at
Graceland University in Lamoni, IA.
AMANDA PENNUTO (flute) and
HEATH CARWRIGHT (clarinet) were married on July 25th in St. Martin's Catholic Church in Piqua, KS.
MARK STIDHAM (tuba & bass) and wife Marychelo are the proud parents of Abigale Noelle Stidham, born June 6th in the Ronald Reagan Hospital at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Abby weighed in at 9 _ pounds.
