The 37th KU ALUMNI BAND REUNION is set for Homecoming on October 10th. The KU BAND and the University are making plans for this to be another memorable and exciting Homecoming, and the ALUMNI BAND is a very important part of the festivities! The last several years, the Jayhawks have provided lots of excitement at the homecoming games! We have had very satisfying wins over K-State, Missouri, and Nebraska (76-39 in '07.) This year's homecoming opponent, Iowa State, is still smarting from their loss to KU last year in Ames. Trailing by 20 points at halftime, the Jayhawks staged a spectacular comeback, winning 35-33. We need YOU here to help us take the wind out of the Cyclones, and forge another KU Homecoming victory!
We are very excited about the growth of the Marching Jayhawks!
The 2009 Marching Band is proud to have 285 members - we are anxious for you to see and hear us!!
The Homecoming Parade will step off 2 hours before kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 10th. (Time of the game is not yet set.) The parade will move down Jayhawk Boulevard from the Adams Alumni Center to the Chi Omega fountain, led by the Marching Jayhawks. The ALUMNI BAND will also march in the parade! All who are “willing and able” are invited to participate!
There are numerous activities planned for students and alumni during Homecoming week. Check out the website http://www.homecoming.ku.edu for more information.
KU ALUMNI BAND REUNION SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY (NEW SCHEDULE - UPDATED 10/1/09)
** Because of potential Network Television commitments, the time of the game (and therefore the entire day's schedule) is tentative! IF THERE IS A CHANGE IN GAME TIME and/or the schedule, the information will be posted on the band websites: marchingjayhawks.com and on kuband.org.
| 7:00-7:30 am | At the stadium - coffee, donuts, registration, pick up instruments, etc. ATTIRE for the game will be the blue KU ALUMNI BAND T-SHIRT. Everyone participating in the halftime show must wear this shirt, and will not be allowed on the field without it. If you need one, you may purchase one at the registration table for $10.
Alumni Band members who are using KU Band instruments may pick up their instrument before the rehearsal from the “Professional Moving and Storage” truck which will be parked in the parking lot just east of the stadium. We will supply tubas (you must supply your own mouthpieces!) and percussion instruments (you must supply your own sticks!) - other instruments are in very short supply! The instruments must then be returned to the truck during the 4th quarter of the game, at which time, the truck will be parked at the northeast corner of the stadium, near gate 17/18. |

| 10:00 am | Alumni Band meet at the Campanile. The Alumni Band will join with the Marching Jayhawks to form one block band for the march down the hill. The Alumni Band's seats for the game will be Sec. 17, Rows 21-26 - right behind the Marching Jayhawks. | |

| 11:30 pm | KU vs Iowa State kickoff - The Marching Jayhawks & the KU Alumni Band at Halftime. (Check in instruments at the truck during the 4th quarter). |
All tickets are reserved seats, and are $60 each.
