University fellowships: the department annually nominates incoming and continuing graduate students for a variety of university fellowships.
Morris Family Scholarship: one scholarship is awarded each year to an incoming doctoral student. Holders of the Morris Family Scholarship receive $15,000 and a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) postion in their first year. Upon successful completion of this year, Morris scholars will be given priority for either a GTA position or an internship in the Spencer Museum in the following two years.
Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) positions Generally, these positions are held by students who have completed at least a year of the M.A. program.
Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) positions are offered primarily in the History of Art digital resource library.
Curatorial intern positions are offered by the Spencer Museum of Art.
Travel grants for doctoral research (up to $1800) are available from the Art History Travel Fund.
Small grants to support travel to present papers at conferences are available from the department and the university.
