Requirements
Deadlines for completed applications (with supporting documents, transcripts, letters, test scores, etc.):
- For Fall Semester Admission: January 1
- For Spring Semester Admission: October 1 (for international); October 15 (for domestic)
The institution code for GRE and TOEFL reports is: 6871
For consideration for
admission to the program, students must submit to the Graduate Applications Processing Center:
- A completed Online Graduate Application form (see link below)
- An application fee
The History of Art Department also requires all of the following materials in addition to the application:*
- An official copy of transcripts of all post-secondary
education.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores.
- Three letters of recommendation (preferably
from professors).
- A one-page statement of educational and career
objectives.
- One writing sample (preferably an art history
paper).
- Curriculum Vitae or resume.
- Typed list of art history classes taken in chronological order and including 1) number of hours, 2) instructor name, and 3) grade received.
International students must also submit to the History of Art Department:
*You will be given the option to attach your resume/CV, statement, writing sample, and list of art history courses taken to the Graduate Online Application (see link below).
