For consideration for admission to the program, students must submit to the History of Art Department:

• An official copy of transcripts of all post-secondary education
• Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
• Three letters of recommendation (preferably from professors) NOTE: Each must be in a sealed envelope and signed on the seal by the recommender
• A one-page statement of educational and career objectives
• One writing sample (preferably an art history paper)
• Curriculum Vitae or resume
• Typed list of art history classes in chronological order, including final course grades and instructor's names.

International students must also submit to the History of Art Department:

• TOEFL scores. University of Kansas TOEFL requirements for admission . TOEFL scores are not necessary for international students who have received a degree from an English-speaking post-secondary school.
• Bank Certification
  

For fall admission, all application materials are due by January 1st.

For spring admission, application materials are due October 15th.
