applications for 2006 21st century grant competition

Apply Soon for 21st Century Community Learning Center Grants!

K.E.N. is pleased to announce that the 2006 21st Century Community Learning Center grant competition is open. 21st Century grants are a valuable source of major funding for afterschool programs, and we encourage all to apply.

In this competition, the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) intends to award approximately 5 new five-year grants. KSDE will limit the maximum amount of each grant to between $75,000 and $100,000 in each of the first three years. In Year 4, the award will be limited to 80% of the average of Years 1, 2 and 3, and in Year 5, the award will be limited to 70%.

A free Applicants' Workshop is scheduled on March 9, 2006 from 1-4 pm at the Wichita Airport Hilton, 2098 Airport Road for anyone interested in applying. Please contact Dee Lewis: (785) 296-3069 or dlewis@ksde.org to register. Registration information is also included in the application packet.
