LIGHTS ON AFTERSCHOOL CONTEST OPEN TO K.E.N. PARTNERS

The Kansas Enrichment Network is excited to announce the start of competition for one of four $225 prizes for exceptional Lights On Afterschool activities. How do you enter the competition?

  1. Go online to www.afterschoolalliance.org and register to participate in Lights On Afterschool. Encourage your members and constituents to also register!
  2. Plan an action your organization or agency can use to demonstrate support for afterschool. There are many ideas on the Afterschool Alliance website. Your event can be performed on October 20 or anytime during the month of October.
  3. Complete the application (available from delder@ku.edu) stating your event, and return it to 1122 West Campus Road, Joseph R. Pearson Hall, Room 624, Lawrence, KS 66045 or fax it to (785)864-5212. Applications are due November 10.
Awards will be given in one or more of the following categories:
A. Strong afterschool program and community partnerships for LOA/afterschool events
B. Extensive coverage (hopefully statewide) of an event or action, including saturation of afterschool information across the state and local communities.
C. Involvement of state and local policymakers in Lights On Afterschool!
