NATIONAL GRANTS FOR AT-RISK CHILDREN

Charles Lafitte Foundation Grants
The Charles Lafitte Foundation provides support for innovative programs aimed at resolving social service issues, assisting students with learning disabilities, providing technology and computer based education, creating access to education of the arts, supporting at-risk children from pre-school to college and providing learning enhancement, including the development of leadership skills. The Education Program includes support for research and conferences as well as support for programs that promote academic excellence in institutions of higher learning. Only 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply. Applications are accepted year-round.

Milagro Foundation Grants
The Foundation funds creative and unique programs from grass roots organizations that work with underrepresented and underprivileged children first and foremost. The grants focus on art, education and health. Priority is given to programs that can prove to make a lasting impact on children (those that work with the children for two or more years) and programs or projects that show collaboration between and among more than one agency. The Board makes decisions on grants three times a year–February, June and October, and grants are usually between $2500 and $5000.

Hasbro Children's Grants: The Hasbro Children's Foundation will provide funding for programs that work to improve the emotional, mental, and physical health of disadvantaged children. Applications are accepted year-round.

Public Welfare Foundation Funding: The Public Welfare Foundation provides grants to groups that serve disadvantaged populations and those that work to meet basic human needs. Application deadline is continuous.

Seva Foundation Grants for Native American Communities
The Seva Foundation strives to build partnerships to respond to locally defined problems with culturally sustainable solutions throughout the world.  Seva's Native American Funding Programs support local grassroots partnerships with Native American peoples who have devised their own solutions in the areas of: spiritual and cultural renewal; health and wellness; environmental restoration; sustainable agriculture and community economic development; education; and treaty rights protection.  Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 are provided to urban and rural Indian communities for programs that may otherwise be overlooked by larger foundations.  Requests are reviewed quarterly.  Visit http://www.seva.org/communitygrants.php for more information.
