To register for the Jewish Studies minor, students should see Ms. Karen Hummel, Administrative Assistant in Religious Studies, 102 Smith Hall, 864-4664 to complete and submit the form of declaration of a minor. On completing that form, students will receive a worksheet for completing the minor. The requirements of the minor are as follows:
- To satisfy the requirements for the Jewish Studies minor, students must complete the equivalent of the second year of Hebrew or Yiddish in addition to meeting the course requirements listed below.
- 15 credits from at least three different departments. Courses to meet this requirement are to be selected from the list of courses below or other appropriate courses at the University of Kansas or abroad approved by the Jewish Studies advisor:

- At least 3 credits of independent research to be undertaken as a departmental course or as a Jewish Studies course (proposed JS 490 Directed Study in Jewish Studies or JS 491 Directed Study in Jewish Studies - Honors) in which a student does an independent research project at KU or abroad under the supervision of the Jewish Studies advisor. All independent study credits towards the minor will need approval of the Jewish Studies advisor.
