Just note that anything linking to any sort of inappropriate content will automatically disqualify you.
We'll be taking your tweets through February 17, 2012.

Food Mafia:

Join a start-up technology and social media company in the restaurant industry to help make a positive difference in the food community! This internship will give you the opportunity to work as a key contributor in designing and developing our Feed editorial section, our newsletter content, news releases, as well as working with chefs and restaurants to create new Food Mafia Exclusive Experience’s. This is a great opportunity to take initiative, provide input, and make a positive impact on small business owners and food lovers across the world! Also a great résumé builder to show what you can do while you do what you love!
About Food Mafia:
Food Mafia is a restaurant review website that supports the local restaurant community. We focus on the finding the best local, unique to the city restaurants. Members are either invited directly or must request an invitation and be approved. Our members are made up of food lovers, celebrity chefs, and industry professionals who share their favorite and recommended restaurants along with tips on what to order.
We offer a one-of-a-kind restaurant recommendation system and social media network. Members rate their restaurants by Favorite, Recommend, or Been There. Since restaurant reviews are so subjective, we help people identify others with similar taste to find where to go. Since our members have no interest in negative reviews, we simply don’t allow them, the worst thing our members have to say is they’ve “Been There”. When our Godfathers and Members rate a restaurant, that restaurant earns points based on that recommendation. Our Mafia Meter will then sort so you can see what is most popular on the site. You can also refine your search to sort by local members only, chefs, or the people you are following or who are following you.
Food Mafia launched in Chicago on March 25, 2011. Because of the rapidly growing interest in the site, we have expanded to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York and we recently opened up the ability for our members to add their favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. We have more than 1,200 approved members (including celebrity chefs), over 6,000 Facebook fans, 2,000 Twitter followers, and more than 3,000 newsletter subscribers. Food Mafia has chosen to grow more organically and focus on quality over quantity. We have been written up in Eater Chicago, Eater National, Thrillist Chicago, and Grubstreet LA.
What makes Food Mafia unique:
Unlike other restaurant review sites, our approved members are made up of food lovers, celebrity chefs, and industry professionals. See what top chefs and restaurateurs are saying about Food Mafia: http://www.foodmafia.com/feed/video-promo-2
Our members love food and are always looking for great new places to try! We offer a platform where chefs can connect directly with loyal customers and attract new loyal customers. Staying in front of people is critical for a restaurants success and we give chefs and restaurant owners the ability to actively engage with their target audience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Create editorial pieces and initiate and secure interviews with food bloggers, chefs, restaurant owners, writers, and industry experts

This year the new online application system allows students to submit their applications completely electronically, expediting the review and acceptance process.
Students can apply online and more information about Project Vote Smart at our website, www.votesmart.org.
Thanks to the generous support of members across the country, Project Vote Smart is once again able to offer the Barry Goldwater Scholarship to all accepted students. This scholarship provides room and board for the duration of the student's 10-week internship at Project Vote Smart headquarters, the Great Divide Ranch in Montana.
Through Project Vote Smart internships, students will have a unique opportunity to be involved with the political process, while enjoying one of the most spectacular places on earth. The internship will give students the chance to provide millions of people with factual, unbiased information, and the opportunity to stroll around pristine lakes and rivers, hike throughout the Rocky Mountains, or ski some of the best slopes in the country. During an internship with Project Vote Smart, students will work hard and learn a great deal, all in an environment defined by its beautiful scenery and the commitment of its staff and interns.
Project Vote Smart internships, as with all the other areas of the organization, focus on the end product: providing voters with pertinent, factual information on presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative candidates and elected officials. For students, this means a hands-on internship with significant opportunities for learning and growth. In fact, more than 90 percent of the information that Project Vote Smart provides is researched, entered, and checked by interns and volunteers. This system has been developed and cultivated specifically to ensure that interns are primarily responsible for the research; the few staff members are here simply to train and guide interns in what needs to be accomplished. Please consider this opportunity, which will be an unforgettable learning experience.Contact Information:

Rhythm Engineering:
Social Media/Marketing Intern
Think you know social media? Sure you use it every day, but can you deliver business value for a company to be using it, too? We are looking for a two-person team of college interns to birth and nurture our social media marketing efforts.
We are always seeking out more local government traffic agencies to partner with, and social media marketing is an untapped channel for us. We need a pair of social media marketing experts to help us get up and running in this communication channel. You should be able to deliver recommendations and create sustainable execution/tactical methods and tools. When your internship with us is finished, we should be able to pick up seamlessly where you left off.
The team we choose will most likely be made up of two predominant skill sets (you need to apply as a team, not individually). One of you should be an editorial planner and content producer and curator. That person should be able to write at a professional level, quickly understand what our audience sees value in and scour third-party media for re-posting content. The content will be business-oriented and mildly technical.
The second person should be more of a technical architect, although not necessarily a web designer or programmer. He or she should be proficient in building an online framework to support the content, such as LinkedIn profiles, Facebook fan pages, Twitter accounts and tools, skinning our YouTube channel, posting to Slideshare, inclusion of Like and +1 buttons and whatnot on our web pages. This person should also understand social media marketing metrics and how to track and report them. All infrastructure and content management tools should be built so our full-time team can take them over at the end of the summer internship.
What will you get out of this? First off, we hope it is fun and educational. You’ll also get to show people how you took a company with almost no social media presence, built one and produced measurable business results. It’s your own case study: real-world application of cutting-edge strategy and skills with actual results to prove your abilities.
You will work out of our Lenexa, Kansas, office with some of the most brilliant and enjoyable folks you’ll ever meet. Do a great job, and we’ll be a great reference for you in your future career pursuits. Finally, we will pay each of you $10 an hour, up to 40 hours a week.
Interested? Convince us that the two of you are the obvious choice. Your two-person team should impress us. Send your résumé, sample work, personal social media brands, initial ideas, your knowledge of best practices and trends, philosophies, concepts or whatever else. Send them to the contact provided below.
