Staff Reporters
The Citizens’ Voice, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, has two immediate openings for full-time news reporters with a proven capability of producing enterprise and covering a beat.
The ideal candidates will be able to juggle daily coverage with enterprise and have demonstrated some investigative skills. We’re looking for reporters with practical knowledge of Right-to-Know laws who can work within those laws to uncover important information to advance news reporting.
Daily experience is preferred, but we will consider entry-level reporters with journalism backgrounds and extensive internships. We’re also looking for reporters who understand the basics and importance of the Web in breaking news.
The newspaper, recently recognized as the “Best Overall Daily Newspaper in Pennsylvania” by the state chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, prides itself as a watchdog of public spending and upholding public trust.

We are looking for job candidates who understand rural life. They might have experience with it, or simply have a burning curiosity and passion for it. Job Qualifications:
Experience in, first-hand knowledge of, or burning curiosity about rural life and a commitment to the heritage of rural America and GRIT. Seeking an individual with excellent skills in organization, communication (oral and written), editing, and digital technology (CMS, SEO, video editing, blogging, social media, "smart" devices, etc.). Applicants should be able to write about rural living with an authentic, encouraging and enthusiastic voice. Must be a team player, able and willing to pitch in at all levels – can-do attitude and good sense of humor are a must.
