1. Contact Information

In order to more equitably share the cost of SPSS among all the departments that use the software and to better allow departments to manage SPSS licenses used by their faculty, staff, and student employees, activation codes will no longer be distributed directly to users through the IT website.

Instead, departments will need to place orders for SPSS software needed by their users and manage the activation codes generated for those orders. In order to fulfill the university’s obligations to track where the licenses are installed, departments will need to maintain the following information about each SPSS installation:

  1. Machine information (name, ID, or IP)
  2. Type of machine (KU-owned or personal)
  3. Name, Title and Department of person using the license
  4. Software licensed (Windows, Macintosh, individual add-on)
  5. Activation code used

This information can be tracked in the Excel spreadsheet containing the activation codes that will be sent to departments after ordering.
