Course work completed at an institution outside the United States will be considered for transfer credit at KU if:
- You took the course at an institution of higher education recognized as a university by the ministry of education in that country.
- You took the courses at an institution that is technical in nature and is recognized as equal to a university by the ministry of education in that country.
- You present all official records and documents representing course work completed.
- You arrive at KU prepared to explain and show evidence that course work included specific subject matter. You should present a catalog, syllabus, or other information that provides succinct descriptions of each course you have completed. Many courses may not be recognized as equal to courses offered or required at KU. Once you are on campus, the appropriate academic department may interview or test you to establish your knowledge of the subject.
- You can establish the number of weeks, number of days per week, and number of hours per day that were required to complete the course.
Very Important: The transfer of credit will occur after you have enrolled at KU if you do not provide syllabi and course descriptions when you apply for admission. If credit cannot be determined before you arrive, it will be determined after you arrive, upon presentation of paper documentation.
