International Undergraduate Admissions
The deadline for Summer 2008 and Fall 2008 has passed.
Please consider applying for the Spring 2009 before the October 15 deadline.
Academic Records
You may initially send KU a faxed or scanned copy of your official academic records. All documents must be in your native language and have English translations. You should also mail the original records to our office.
You must provide official academic records from every educational institution you have attended. Documents must be original, showing official school seal and signature of administrative official. Your full name must be written on each document. Records should be complete, providing detailed information, including dates of enrollment, courses for each term of study, grades earned and diploma, certificate or degree completed. The grading scale and number of credit hours attempted should be noted when possible. Official transcripts should be sent in a sealed envelope directly from the institution to KU. All records become the property of KU and will not be returned or forwarded.
You are a first-year applicant (freshman) if you have completed secondary school but have not yet enrolled in a regular session at any college or university. You must submit records such as official transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, certificates, or official examination results proving completion of secondary education (high school) and grades achieved.
You are a transfer applicant if you have completed secondary school and have been enrolled in a college or university. You must present official transcripts from all post-secondary-level (college or university) course work.
You may not disregard your college record and apply as a first-year student. All college and university academic records must be submitted.
First-year applicants: You may enter the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) or the Schools of Engineering, Fine Arts, or Architecture and Urban Design.
Beyond the first year: Before entering programs in the Schools of Allied Health, Business, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Social Welfare, you must take prerequisite courses. Many students begin their studies in CLAS and apply for transfer to these professional schools after completing prerequisites (see
Admission Options chart).
