Cultural Programs


International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) coordinates a variety of programs and works closely with some community-based programs. Detailed information and applications for any of the below programs can be obtained in ISSS office, Room 2 Strong Hall. A variety of programs and workshops, such as off-campus employment,job search techniques, immigration basics, and tax assistance, are offered throughout the year to provide information about topics that are relevant to international students.

    This is a nonprofit , all-volunteer organization for women of all nations. International women can improve their English and learn about American customs and how to get along in Lawrence. Tuition is $25.00 a year or $15.00 a semester. Students enrolled in Small World pay $5.00 per child with a maximum of $10.00 per semester for two or more children. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway (Small World is not affiliated in any way with this or any other church).
