Lauren Krivoshia is a Lawrence native who became officially affiliated with KU for the first time in early 2012 when she joined the Indigenous Studies program.  A graduate of DePauw University with a major in studio art, her passion for the arts moved her to work at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2007.  A strong desire to give back to the community led Lauren to move back to Lawrence and join Communities In Schools of Kansas.  Starting as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, Lauren helped build the capacity of the youth-serving dropout prevention organization, and later lead the marketing efforts for the state office.
