Ngondi A. Kamatuka, Director of Educational Opportunity Programs, joined the School of Education in 1987. He holds a baccalaureate degree from Tabor College, a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Kansas.

 

Dr. Kamatuka’s primary responsibilities include the total management of 12 EOP programs of the Institute. These programs are funded through grants from the United States Department of Education, and the Kansas State Department of Education. Dr. Kamatuka is involved in the national leadership of TRiO, GEAR UP and migrant education programs.  Currently, he is serving as the president of the ten states region of the Mid America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP), and he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE). The purpose of these organizations is to ensure educational access for low-income, fist-generation college students, and disabled students.
