Predicting Latino Student's College Participation: State, School and Individual Effects

This study seeks to examine factors that affect time to doctorate degree and if there are any significant differences by racial/ethnic groups, with a particular emphasis on the effect of debt burden.  The research questions in the study are as follows:

(1)   What are the factors that affect doctorate recipients’ time to degree?  Are there significant disparities by race/ethnicity, field of study, and institution?

(2)   What are the relationships between undergraduate and graduate debt levels?  Are there significant disparities by race/ethnicity, field of study, and institution?

(3)   What is the relationship between undergraduate debt and the elapsed time from completion of the baccalaureate degree to entrance into a graduate program?
