Kansas Statewide STEM SySTEM

With funding provided by the Noyce Foundation, the Kansas Enrichment Network will:

Create a statewide system that increases the number of students reached with quality informal STEM programming.

Increase the capacity of the afterschool workforce to facilitate informal STEM experiences;

Increase the quality and number of afterschool STEM experiences;

Develop partnerships among local, regional, and statewide organizations to work together to support informal STEM education;

Collect baseline data on the quantity and quality of informal STEM education in the state.

Participate in Project LIFTOFF’s learning community through meetings, events, and technical assistance calls as described in the RFP.

Design and implement an evaluation of the Kansas Statewide STEM SySTEM with Noyce Foundation input, including use of the Excited, Engaged and Interested Science Learner survey and the Dimensions of Success (DOS) observation tool.

Develop a plan for financial sustainability 2011 and 2012 to ensure that the Kansas Statewide STEM SySTEM has a sustainable model by 2013.
