Adolescent Family Life Demonstration Project

The main objective for the Generations project evaluation is to test a theory of change built around the Strengthening Family resiliency framework to improve long-term outcomes for pregnant adolescents and their subsequent newborns. This evaluation will test the hypothesis that providing enhanced intervention services (parent education, mental health consultation) will increase two key intermediate outcomes: family protective factors and mental health outcomes.

The additional hypothesis is that these important family- and individual-level outcomes play a mediating role in supporting the long-term outcomes of reduced repeat pregnancies, increased infant immunization compliance, increased educational attainment, and improved health outcomes for adolescents and newborns.
