Kansas Strengthening Families Plan Update

Over 40 Kansas Strengthening Families stakeholders met on November 6, 2008 in Lawrence, KS to share information and move forward with implementation of the Plan.

Meeting handouts and resource links are now posted on the KSF Plan website, located at www.ksfplan.org. 

The Kansas Strengthening Families Leadership Team identified parent involvement and parent leadership as a priority for 2008-09. In conjunction with the Kansas Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Plan and the Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention programs, the Kansas Parent Initiative will help us to gain a deeper understanding of the ways parents define parent involvement and access supports to get the resources they need to nurture their children and integrate information on how agencies utilize parent input and make programmatic changes in response.

During the meeting, Institute staff reviewed the KSF plan with attendees and provided presentations on the Kansas Parent Initiative, Integrating Protective Factors, and National Efforts.
