Institute collaborates with Fine Arts

Dr. Becky Eason recently collaborated with the School of Fine Arts to submit a proposal to the NAMM Foundation.  Professor Chris Johnson, Associate Dean of Fine Arts, Professor Martin Bergee and Dr. Eason propose to study "The Effect of Participation in Musical Activities as a Predictor of Achievement on Indicators of College Success".

About NAMM:

Over its more-than-100-year history, the association has evolved from a national entity representing the interests of music products retailers to an international association including both commercial and retail Members. The International Music Products Association’s name, NAMM, comes from the acronym “National Association of Music Merchants,” but the long form of the name is no longer used. Today, we simply say that NAMM stands for the interests of the global music products industry.

The Institute exists to assist School of Education faculty in their pursuit of external funding and to serve the State of Kansas. Major programs areas are:
Educational Opportunity Programs
Faculty Research and Service
Professional Development
