Welcome to the HVC2 project

HVC2 retreats

First retreat - January 20, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. - Kansas Union.

All committee sponsors, leads, consultants, facilititators, and committee members gathered at the Kansas Union to participte in a day long retreat to "kick-off" the HVC2 project.

Goals of the retreat were:

  • discover more about the goals and procedures for HVC2;
  • learn about ECAR involvement from Richard Katz, President of ECAR; and,
  • interact with your project consultants;
  • gather and work with your group

    Additional"creative" activities forced us to think "outside the hairball"!

Group roles defined: Project leads, participants, consultants, facilitators, and sponsors.

Retreat agenda

Project lead responsibilities:

  1. For the "Committee reports", the project leads prepared a 15-20 minute report about their committee's current progress and future planned activities. Several groups were much further along than others and all groups had some initial activities and discussed possible avenues of research, information gathering, organization of materials, etc
  2. During the afternoon sessions, each of the groups had at least an hour with a consultant. In order to use this time wisely, project leads were urged to contact the consultant(s) directly about how best to make use of his/her time. The time spent with the consultants provided information about what other schools were doing with in their project area or other appropriate research studies.
