Ernest E. Jenkins, Assistant Professor (Ph.D. University of Kansas 2004; M.A. University of Kansas 1993; B.A. Furman University 1990). My area of specialization focuses on Medieval Iberia, Southern France, and the Mediterranean. I am particularly interested in social, ecclesiastical, and legal history. The social component of my work is leading me to examine families and kinship networks more closely, and this process is shaping the direction of my book in progress. It will concentrate on the activities and influence of the count of Barcelona's family, with particular emphasis on the late twelfth and early thirteenth centuries. I teach a range of courses from the introductory to upper levels, including the Medieval survey, historical methods, Iberia, the Crusades, and Medieval culture. I am happy to work with undergraduate and graduate students, and if you have questions about our program, please feel free to contact me
