Note: The online ID and password used in the enrollment process is not the same as your KU Online ID. The enrollment process is a seperate function from the rest of KU's online services. After being successfully admitted, you will no longer use the username / password created during the admission process.
Go to here and enter in your Student ID Number which can be found on your KU Card or your acceptance letter from KU, and your date of birth in the MMDDYY format. Once entered, click the "Create A KU Online ID" button and continue through the registration process.
You will be asked to register your non-KU email address. Here you will enter in an email address that does not end with "@ku.edu". KU will send a validation email to this adress which must be responded to before your account will be activated. If you do not see this email from KU, check your "junk mail" folder or other similar area.
Please remeber that the KU Online ID you choose will be yours throughout your time at KU, and cannot be changed. Also, when you register for a KU email account, this same Online ID will be used. This will mean that faculty members will be emailing you at this address and possibly potential employers as well. Keep this in mind when choosing your KU Online ID.
To change your password or if you have forgotten your password and need to reset it go to the Manage Passwords page. If you know your current password, enter it here with your KU Online ID and click the "Submit" button.
If you do not know your current password, click on the forgot your password link and enter in your KU Student ID Number and birthdate. After clicking on the "Continue" button, you will be asked for the answer to your "Shared Secret". This is a word or passage that you set up during the creation of your KU Online ID. It is case sensitve, so enter it in exactly how you did when first creating it.
If you do not know your current password and cannot answer your shared secret correctly you will need to visit the KU Customer Service Center in person with a valid photo ID. Directions about locating our department can be found here.
Go to the KU Online ID set-up page. Enter in your KU ID Number or Employee ID Number and your date of birth in the format indicated. Click on "Create a KU Online ID". If you are taken to a page that reads According to our records, you are not authorized for any online services. If you feel this is in error, students please contact the University Registrar otherwise contact Human Resources, then you have already created a KU Online ID.
If you get a different page asking for more information, you have not set up an Online ID yet, and can enter in the required information into the page to set up your Online ID.
If you cannot remember your KU Online ID, please contact the KU Customer Service Center at 785-864-8080
Registering for a KU Online ID does not automatically grant you a KU email address. A KU email address, also known as an Exchange Account, is a seperate service offered by KU.
To acquire an KU email account, navigate to the Get Online Services page and click on the "Sign In with your KU Online ID" near the top of the page. In the next screen, you should be able to choose to Register for a KU exchange account. Follow the screens to set this up.
If you do not see the option to register for an Exchange account, you may not be eligible for a KU email account.
If you need to synchronize your password, just go to the Synch Password site and enter in your KU Online ID and password.
