More than a third of Kansas's residents are of German ancestry. This presentation explores the major German immigrant groups and their impact on Kansas's agriculture, education and Midwestern culture.

William D. Keel is professor of Germanic Languages at KU. He has researched the many German settlements and dialects in Kansas. This program is through the auspices of the Kansas Humanities Council.
