Tour of the New Engineering Building
New Generation Society of Lawrence (NGSL members only)

Wed., Apr. 24, 2013, 9:00am - 10:00am
Location: KU School of Engineering, M2SEC building

The Measurement, Materials Sustainable Environment Center (M2SEC) is a game-changing research facility funded by a $12.3 million National Institute of Standards and Technology grant and additional support from the University of Kansas and KU Endowment.  This new 44,000 square-foot fixture on the KU School of Engineering complex houses a variety of environmental- and infrastructure-related research laboratories and will harness technologies that maximize energy efficiency and minimize adverse environmental impact.  The structure is part of the KU School of Engineering's Building on Excellence Initiative, a long-term vision that drives growth in facilities, students, faculty, leadership and research.

Park in the KU Parking Garage just north of Allen Field House. (The parking lot north of the parking garage is not available as it is all reserved parking.) Walk one block north to the new M2SEC building.  (There will be balloons on the east entrance door of the new building.)  After comments by the Dean, a tour of the new building will follow.
